Birth announcements & Wedding invitations
I love to create the perfect card for you to go along with your marvellous occasion. You can choose the Card Package that fits your needs best (see below). Since all card design commissions are custom made, you can contact me using the contact form below (or visit the contact page and leave a message) to discuss your personal wishes.
This is how it works:
1. You choose Card package 1, 2 or 3 and contact me to plan your commission. You send me a general outline of what you’re looking for. Since I work on picture book commissions a lot, I generally need at least 3-4 months to complete a design (faster is possible, but I’d charge a rush fee);
2. I tell you about the possibilities and ask additional questions about what you're looking for. You may choose a set theme and/or color scheme and it is possible to include up to 3 characters to your design. I usually propose a fitting concept and composition for a design. However, if you have a very specific illustration in mind that needs to be put to paper exactly as is, I do ask for an additional fee since more detailed requests require more time to create. You receive the payment information before I start the sketch.
3. You receive a payment confirmation, after which I can start the sketching process. I will let you know beforehand when you can expect to receive commission updates via email. I send your rough sketch update with an outline of my ideas and you can approve it or request alterations. After the sketch has been approved, I will start drawing on the actuall size;
4. After the outlines are put to paper on the actual size, you will receive another commission update. You can request minor changes at this point (you cannot change the approved composition in this stage);
5. I paint and finish your design and add text (if this applies to your commission) and send you a final picture of the end result. When having purchased Card Package 2 or 3, I go ahead and design the inside of the card. It is important that I have received all of your text by this stage. The text needs to be free of mistakes and final since I do not proof read and I cannot re-print cards (package 3) for free if a mistake is in the text itself. You will receive another update with the finished inside of the card. It is possible to request alterations in the layout of the text;
6. If your card was handmade as a painting, I can now go ahead and ship your original painting, to have as a special keepsake. If you ordered physical cards (Card Package 3), we will discuss the number of cards and the paper & envelope quality and stock you’d like to choose. After your payment has been made, your cards are shipped to you, with tracking.
Additional information about birth announcement designs
When your baby has been born, I will wait for you to contact me with the final information (date and time of birth, weight, length, etc.) and add it to your design within 2 working days. After that, you’ll receive the final digital files and/or I will print the physical cards and ship them to you.

Card package 1
Does not include printing
I design the front illustration of your card, including optional text. I can create your illustration in *water colors, digital (children’s book style), or with *graphite pencil (black and white).
You receive:
The digital file to send to the printer of your personal choice;
The physical handmade painting (if you have chosen a *handmade medium) sent to your home

Card package 2
Does not include printing
I design the front illustration of your card, including optional text. I also design the inside and/or backside of your card including the text layout and small illustrated details on the inside of your card. I can create your illustration in *water colors, digital (children’s book style), or with *graphite pencil (black and white).
You receive:
The digital files of both the front and inside and/or backside of your card to send to the printer of your personal choice;
The physical handmade painting (if you have chosen a *handmade medium) sent to your home.

Card package 3
Includes printing
I design all of the above for you, plus I’ll take the printing completely out of your hands!
You receive:
The digital files of both the front and inside and/or backside of your card to send to the printer of your personal choice;
The physical handmade painting (if you have chosen a *handmade medium) sent to your home.
The number of physical cards that you personally ordered
Price: € 600 + **custom price

*The pricing for the printed cards depends on multiple factors: the number and size of the cards, the quality and paper stock, the type of envelopes, etc. I’ll ask all of these specifications and offer you a price based on your wishes.
